Her Excellency Maria de Jesus Mascarenhas was recently appointed General Consul of Cabo Verde in the United States of America and Norwich is historically her first visit with local Caboverdian community.
Mascarenhas holds a bachelor's degree in international law and acquired her Masters Degree
in Economic Development and International Cooperation from the University of Lisbon. She started her diplomatic career in 1990 as Director of Cooperation at the Embassy in Lisbon.
